What do you do at Mizuho?
I direct the brand marketing, media relations, digital strategy, social media, conferences, events, and internal and external communications for Mizuho Americas. My team is leading the efforts in promoting our new brand story and raising awareness of it in the region.
How is Mizuho different from other places you've worked?
Without a doubt, it's the people. I've always worked in high energy, high performance environments, and Mizuho is all that and more. The melding of different backgrounds with different perspectives creates a truly unique place to work.
What’s a particularly proud moment you’ve had here?
One of my proudest moments here at Mizuho has been the development and roll-out of our brand strategy and website in the Americas. I joined Mizuho to build something from the ground up—a communications and marketing team to promote the Mizuho brand in the markets where it’s not well known (yet). As our team grows, it’s incredible to see how all these different areas of expertise and personalities are complementing and reinforcing each other.
What’s one thing you've learned while at Mizuho or in the industry?
It's critical to maintain a work-life balance. As a career-oriented mother, I always advise those in the early stages of their careers not to lose sight of what's important...that is, what gives you real purpose and satisfaction in life. For me, I'm most proud to be a mom of three amazing children. With my supportive husband, I've been able to balance a successful career with a busy life outside of work filled with soccer games, dance recitals, graduations, and many other family activities.
What do you do for fun?
I'm obsessed with the island of Anguilla—the people, the food and the stunning beaches. It's definitely my happy place.
