What do you do at Mizuho?
My main role is Loan Trader for Mizuho. This means for any syndicated loan that Mizuho or a client/investor of Mizuho wants to buy or sell in the secondary market, my job is to execute at the best price in the over the counter market.
What surprised you about Mizuho?
I am sure I am not alone when I say our recent acquisitions have been and will continue to be transformative to Mizuho. It will elevate Mizuho's role and prominence in the US.
What’s the first thing you read every day?
I log on to Bloomberg and check the equity futures markets and also read the Wall Street Journal.
How have you grown since joining Mizuho?
I have developed a better understanding of debt capital markets. Origination is the driver for secondary trading, particularly in the loan market where there is a big focus on the new issue calendar as the governor of the supply vs. demand equation.
What’s a particularly proud moment you’ve had here?
Winning the league championship with the Mizuho basketball team.
What’s one thing you've learned while at Mizuho or in the industry?
Your reputation is everything.
What do you do for fun?
I coach soccer and baseball/softball for my 12-year old daughter and 9-year old son. I still like to play basketball and softball as much as I can.
