What do you do at Mizuho?
I’m a part of the North American Banking’s Technology, Media & Telecom, Corporate & Investment Banking team. We work with our clients to provide value-added strategic advice around capital structure, acquisition and event-driven financings, and other corporate finance related topics. We work on regular course and event-related financings across the product spectrum, including the leveraged and investment grade bank and bond markets, ABS, securitization, and equity-linked products.
How is Mizuho different from other places you've worked?
The culture is very different. Mizuho takes a collaborative approach to banking, with a flat structure which provides junior team members a greater level of responsibility and exposure. The senior bankers at Mizuho make a pointed effort to develop junior bankers and provide them with an experience unlike most other Analyst and Associate programs.
What’s a particularly proud moment you’ve had here?
I’m most proud of working on the deal team for one our most notable transactions. It was an incredible learning experience for me with considerable exposure to all areas of the bank, including senior management. The transaction proved to be transformational for the entire US platform. Working through the intricacies and complexities of such a unique and sizable transaction was a rewarding experience I would not have otherwise enjoyed within our normal course of business.
